POUNDS AND OUNCES VS GRAMS

POUNDS AND OUNCES VS GRAMS - Cooper Cricket

Cricket bat weight is generally expressed as pounds and ounces. In Australia, we use grams, however to honour the tradition of cricket bat making, we used pounds and ounces to express the weight of our bats.

The abbreviation for pounds is lbs. 2.7lbs is 2 pounds and 7 ounces.

Here is a quick guide to help you work out the conversion.

1.12lbs = 795 g

1.13lbs = 823 g

1.14lbs = 851 g

1.15lbs = 879 g

2lbs = 907 g

2.1lbs = 936 g

2.2lbs = 964 g

2.3lbs = 992 g

2.4lbs = 1021 g

2.5lbs = 1049 g

2.6lbs = 1077 g

2.7lbs = 1106 g

2.8lbs = 1134 g

2.9lbs = 1162 g

2.10lbs = 1191 g

2.11lbs = 1219 g

2.12lbs = 1247 g

2.13lbs = 1276 g

2.14lbs = 1304 g

2.15lbs = 1332 g

3lbs = 1361g

3.1lbs = 1389 g

3.2lbs = 1417 g

These are approximate conversions.

When we choosing a weight for your cricket bat using our Cooper Customiser the weight will not include the binding or grip. These 2 items can weight over 2 ounces on their own. Weights vary as grips can be heavier than others or the handle shape will determine how much binding is used. These items also add weight where the hands are which doesn't affect the way the bat picks up.
