It starts with the willow.

There is nothing quite like the grain of good English willow. We make every Cooper in Brisbane by hand, refined with technology, so the bat you pick up is consistent and true, every time. A bat you trust is a bat that lets you play your own game. Our heart is in it for the player.

Cricket is life.

The flashy stuff with the pros is great. But really it is about the kid who walks a little taller on Monday because of what they did on Saturday. A great bat makes everything better. That is what we are here for.

From our workshop to the world stage.

Plenty of you knew Josh Brown when he was here making bats with us. He built his own, walked out at the Gabba on New Year's Day and lit it up. He plays around the world now, but he is still one of ours.

RE-HANDLING YOUR CRICKET BAT

A lot of players bring bats into the workshop thinking the bat is dead. They wonder if it needs oiling, or if it’s time for a new one. The first thing we look at is the handle.

If the handle has started to break down, energy gets lost through the bat instead of transferring cleanly into the ball.

SUMMER OF STORIES

This time of year, the workshop fills up with more than just the sound of tools and timber, it fills up with stories. Players wander in to have a bat repaired, to grab an extra set of gloves, or just to have a yarn, and with them comes summer - long days, hard work, and seasons taking shape.

We hear about early mornings at training, about hours spent in the nets, about preparation finally paying off.
