Cricket is life.

Getting your bat ready before the season starts
Pre-season is the right time to look properly at the bat that's been sitting in the shed since last autumn. A crack across the face, a soft toe, a handle that's gone dead over winter, sorting it now means it's ready when the first net session rolls around, rather than becoming a scramble the week before round one.
