What is a hard toe?

We prioritise the protection of our cricket bats by applying a specialised product to the toe. This high-impact resistant polyurethane resin is applied in liquid form, where it hardens into a tough yet flexible barrier. It’s specifically designed to provide superior abrasion and impact resistance, making it ideal for shielding the vulnerable toe area of your bat.

With a Shore hardness rating of D60, this resin strikes a balance between rigidity and flexibility, which is crucial for absorbing impacts without compromising the bat’s performance. It’s also highly effective at keeping moisture out, which is essential for maintaining the bat’s durability, particularly on Australian pitches known for being hard and dry.

While this protective layer isn’t indestructible, it significantly reduces wear and tear, especially for players who favour one corner of their bat. By using this method of protection, we ensure that the toe of your bat remains in top condition, even after extensive use on the field.
