This cricket bat had seen better days. The toe had completely broken off and required a major toe repair and full clean up.
The bat arrived in 2 pieces and we immediately got to work repairing the toe.
Fortunately it was a clean break with next to no loose willow.
This close up shows the damage.
Once glued back together, the cricket bat is clamped applying pressure from multiple angles.
The finished toe and the face of the bat with clear guard applied to the face.
A close up of the back of the bat.
The finished cricket bat on the workbench, ready to go.
Our bat maker spent considerable time hitting the ball with the bat. The sound and the feel is all there with the ball pinging off the bat as it should.
