Our part-made cricket bats are designed for players, coaches, and hobbyists who want to experience the process of making their own bat using genuine pressed English willow.

Each bat is supplied from a fully pressed cleft with the handle already fitted and aligned. Binding, a grip, and a small bottle of bat oil are included, giving you everything required to complete your own bat from shaping through to preparation.

Each cleft is professionally pressed for durability and performance, with the handle securely glued and correctly aligned before dispatch.

Available handle options include round, semi-oval, or oval to suit your preferred feel.

Choose Your Starting Point

Part-made bats are available in the following preparation stages:
  • Part-Made Cleft Form – pressed with handle fitted, ready for full shaping
  • Oversized Pre-Shaped Profile – rough shaped with additional timber left for refinement
  • Near-Finished Form – minimal work required before sanding and polishing
Choose Your Willow Grade

Available willow grades include:
  • Grade 1+ – cleaner face with minimal to no cosmetic blemishes
  • Grade 1 – cleaner face with minimal cosmetic blemishes
  • Grade 2 – minor visual imperfections with excellent performance
  • Grade 3 – more visual variation, strong and durable
All grades are fully pressed and suitable for making a quality cricket bat.

Workshop Requirements

These bats are supplied in a part-made state and require traditional woodworking tools to complete. This typically includes hand planes, drawknives, rasps, and sanding equipment such as an orbital sander.

Genuine English Willow

All part-made bats are produced using the same genuine English willow used in our handcrafted Cooper Cricket bats.

Important Information

Part-made cricket bats are not net ready on arrival. Further shaping, finishing, and knocking in will be required before use. Cosmetic tool marks, grain variation, and natural imperfections are normal and expected at this stage.

Shipping and delivery

Free standard shipping on Australian orders over $100. Most in-stock orders ship within 1 to 2 business days. Made-to-order bats and repairs go out once they are ready, usually around two weeks. We will keep you posted along the way.

Returns and warranty

Every Cooper is backed by our workshop. If something is not right, talk to us. See our refund policy for change of mind and faulty items. Willow is a natural product, so fair wear and tear is part of the game, but we will always look after you.

Knock-in and care

A new bat needs knocking in and oiling before it faces a hard ball. Every standard bat leaves us professionally knocked in, and our knock-in service covers any other bat.
